Northeast Harbor is one of the more popular villages on Mount Desert Island however it is far less busy than Bar Harbor during the tourist season. It is located on the southern side of Mount Desert Island at the entrtrance of Somes Sound-the only fjord on the east coast of the United States.
There is no doubt that Northeast Harbor is one of the prettiest villages on the coast of Maine or anywhere in the world. Northeast has a special harbor that is definitely worth visiting.
